In pursuant to directives given by Com. Venu P. Nair GS/NRMU(CR/KR) and clarion call given by AIRF to hold massive demonstration in support to the long pending demands and to protest against government policies of Privatization & Demonetization, National Railway Mazdoor Union(CR/KR) held “MAHAMORCHA” on 22nd November 2022 in front of DRM office Mumbai at 17.00 hrs. About 50000 Railway employees mostly youths were present including large numbers of women employees in jubilant and enthusiastic mood roaring their anguish over the injustice being done by the Goverment.
Major issues of this mass demonstration were
- To fill up the vacancies
- Stop the Surrender of Posts.
- To Stop the Privatization & Monetization of Railways
- Restore the Old Pension Scheme
- To Resolve the Prolonged Demands raised by Union
Before the meeting, employees from various divisions/branches wearing Red T-shirts, Cap and hurling Red Flags, banners, shouting sky rocketing slogans assembled in platform no. 18 at CSMT station and queued up in an orderly manner. Thereafter 50000 active workers march towards DRM Office under the leadership of Com. Venu P. Nair Ji and entire area from DRM office to end of Platfrom No. 18 (towards Kalyan) was jam packed and there was no space even to stand. The place of Sabha in front of DRM Office was over crowded with workers all holding red flags with huge sloganeering “NRMU ZINBADAD”, “AIRF ZIDABAD”. “COM. VENU P. NAIR JI KO LAL SALAAM” COM. SHIVGOPAL MISHARJI KO LAL SALAAM”.
Com. Venu P. Nair, GS/NRMU(CR/KR) was quiet loud and clear while addressing the meeting and spoken on various anti-labour policies of Government like Privatization & Outsourcing of Rly. activities, non filling of vacancies, withdrawal of NPS and said this mass is just the intimation to Government that in future if government wont change its anti labour policies and if Com. Shivgopal Mishraji, GS/AIRF gives call for stoppage Rail systems, NRMU will be the first Union in implementing the order of GS/AIRF within half an hour. His speech was received with thunderous applause by the audience.
Com. Shivgopal Mishra GS/AIRF also addressed the meeting and congratulated Com. Venu P. nair for arranging such a huge protest demonstration and his style of working. He urged that the youth comrades who are in large numbers in Central Railway should come forwards and strengthen the Union. Furhterh he said that if Govt. will not agree with demands of Federation like a) Withdrawal of NPS, 2) Stop the Surrender of Posts. 3) Stop the Privatization & Monetization of Railways 4) Fill up the vacancies and other important issues federation will not shy away to resort to aggressive agitation which would bring nation to stand still.
Thereafter GS Com. Venu P. Nair thanks to all comrades, members & workers for gathering in such a huge numbers from all over Central Railway to make a grand success “MAHAMORCHA”.
