National Railway Mazdoor Union always have upheld its glorious legacy of committed accomplishment of its constitutional obligation primarily to protect the interest of railwaymen and to help the toiling mass affected by natural calamities across the country. In consequent to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in the early week of March-2020, on suggestion of Com. Venu P. Nair GS NRMU (CR/KR) union and its members immediately stepped into offer various services and humanitarian aids to the railwaymen and to the needy public.
Part of its services during COVID-19, after realizing the requirement of a well equipped ambulance at Kalyan Railway Hospital which was having enormous constraints to carry COVID/NON COVID patients separately to referral hospitals, Com. Venu P. Nair GS decided to donate an ambulance to the Kalyan Railway Hospital by NRMU. Accordingly an ambulance was handed over by General Secretary Com. Venu P. Nair to Hon. General Manager of Central Railway Shri. Sanjeev Mittal on 01.10.2020
